John Wick
This film kicks ass… It is like ‘The Raid’ meets Kingsman
and a whole bunch of your favourite action films combined. However this may
trigger alarms for some, WARNING: YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE A GENERIC ACTION FILM.
PREPARE FOR GUNS, HAND TO HAND FIGHTS, CAR CHASES AND A SUPER HOT UNDER
DEVELOPED FEMALE CHARACTER… And in many
ways this film would need a similar warning. But it doesn’t.
This film is fun; action packed and has an almost self-aware
nature. It means that however absurd you think this film’s plot is, it knows
you know. The entire film is based on the events of a wife dies, leaves a dog
to help the grieving process, this dog is then killed after bonding has taken
place…. This all happens to John Wick (Keanu Reeves) who in a past life was the
most determined assassin known to mankind. This parody of tragedy meets revenge
is what makes it so enjoyable. You want this bad ass looking MoFo just to kill
and kill and find the main bad guy and kill him… This is all based on a cute dogs
death….
Keanu is as dead eyed as ever but somehow as ‘moving’ as
ever. But what I really want to mention is the hotel in the film. The hotel is
question is very unique and had such style and humour that left me wanting a
prequel or sequel just about its day to day running.
Don’t go into this film wanting some ground breaking action
or something emotion that makes it all worthwhile… You won’t get that, if you like
The Raid or Kingsman or just like something that you can much popcorn to, then
this is that film, go see.
